Welcome to my website! My name is Abel, I was working as an Associate Lead QA Analyst from 2019 to 2023 at Focus Entertainment in Paris. I also worked as a Level Builder at Sushee Games in 2018.
I have a Game Design and Level Design Licence at IUT de Paris 13 (Bobigny), and worked on several projects in my free time or at school. I'm usually using Unreal Engine and Unity. I also have some basis on Blender.
From 2023 september to september 2024 I was in Working Holiday in Japan, and now looking for a job again in the video game industry!

Super Voice Acting (or Sûpâ Seiyuu Densetsu, as we called it during the developpement), is a game made in Unity with two other people during my free time.
Super voice Acting is a RPG-Management Game.In the RPG part, you play as a voice acting art director during a voice recording session and play them as a turned based RPG where attacks are replaced by emotions. In the management part, you will accept contracts, manage your actors and your budget, following a calendar.

"Resonance of Fate 2" is a fan game project made with a friend on Unity. I've mainly worked as a level designer.
The games follow the same gameplay than in the original game, but we wished to add some level design elements and some platform elements in the game.

Super Mario World
A level created for the Super Nintendo Title Super Mario World. The goal of this exercice was to create a well constructed level around one mechanic from the game, while trying to stay as coherent as possible.
A level in the action-adventure game series Uncharted. The goal here was to create a typical intense roller coaster level that you could find in any Uncharted game. I chose an abandoned city on an island inspired by the Hashima Island in Japan.
A level from the FPS coop game Left 4 Dead. The level takes place in Venice in an abandoned Theater. We needed to use each type of zombies and different types of interaction present in the original games.

Unreal Engine 4 level design project made for School. The Idea was to create a full level for a game on Unreal Engine 4 with a simple gameplay mechanic.
In that sadly untitled project, I have chosen to allow the player to have a top view camera when they were motionless. However, when the player moves around they need to go in first person view mode. With that mechanic in mind I have created a level where the top view was as important as possible but where sometimes roof tops could provide the player to clearly see what was surrounding them.

Behind the Scenes is a Narrative Puzzle-platformer game playable on PC. The player controls a puppet and its shadow on a theatrical stage. With the ability to put or remove a sail on the screen, they are able to change their perception of the level.
When the sail covers the screen, all level elements are replaced by shadows, but transparents elements disappear.
The main challenge with the level design were to right a double story in each levels, a story when the sail covers the screen and another story when it is removed.
At the end of the demo, a boss appears in a situation where the player needs to time the sail change to avoid the enemy attacks.

Professional Experience as a Level Builder
Project Name: Fear Effect Reinvented Unreal Engine 4 Level Builder
From April to October 2018, I worked as a Level builder at Sushee, an independant game company based in Lannion, on the Fear Effect Reinvented Project.
Fear Effect Reinvented was an old school survival horror with fixed cameras, and my work was to be as accurate as possible to the original game (same distances and same camera angles). .
So I worked with the original game as a main source of reference and I built all the last level of the game.
Unfortunately, the project developpement changed hands since then, and my work won't see the light of the day.
Resident Evil inspired level
A fixed camera horror game inspired by Resident Evil Unreal Engine 4 Level Building, Level Designer
A Level created in a few days, first with the ambition to recreate the manor from the first Resident Evil which I always admire in terms of construction. Then, I decided to create my own level.
This level has been created with the gameplay of the first Resident Evil game in mind, with fixed cameras, limited ammo and health, and manual save. Only a gun will be available for the player in that part of the level.
Trapped in an abandoned mansion the player will have to find his fellow comrades imprisoned somewhere. The player objective is to find an axe to access to the second part of the level. They will encounter zombies, and will have to fight a boss in order to find the axe that will open some paths.
In the level, the player will also find some riddles, the first one in the circular room, where they will need to move paintings to open the clock in the dinner room. Another riddle can be found once the player has found the axe. They will need to move some statues at certain places: this will unlock the shotgun.
The level has been thought as a "loop" after the boss fight is done, the player will go back to the initial area and will be able to use the axe to open previously closed doors.

Since July 2019, I am working as a QA Analyst at Focus Home Interactive on SnowRunner.
SnowRunner is a really ambitious project that allows the player to visit large open world maps with offroad trucks.
